Resources

Quick links to some of the more useful stuff I’ve written/created. This will hopefully save some time of having to dig through the various blog categories for the latest of whatever info. Some might be links to Google Sheets or Docs, some might be links to other pages on this site.

MK7 ABS Adaptations - This is a constantly evolving document I’m using for research on all the adaptations. Primary focus of course is on optimizing settings for track/auto-x driving. There is LOTS of bad info out there based on bro-science. I’ve been putting a lot of time into researching OEM documentation, Continental patents, plus other more general resources on ABS engineering and programming strategy in general.

MK7 Oil Cooler Ducting Analysis - If you add an oil cooler exactly how the all the manufactures tell you how… chances are you will MAKE YOUR CAR SLOWER. This is a link to the final testing, along with the link to the open source CAD file if you want to build a duct of your own.

MK7 Cooling on Track Data - quick link to my ongoing report taking logs from people on track, and compiling them for comparison. The goal is to eventually feed all of this data into a model to (attempt to) draw rough correlations with what works and what doesn’t on track. If you would like to submit a log, take a look at this blog post and scroll to the bottom.

MK7 Gear Ratio Calculator - you will need to download your own copy in order to mess with. Click the link then choose File > save copy to your drive or save as Excel file to your desktop so you can edit it yourself.

MK8 PCV Retrofit Information I attempted to put majority of the info in one place for future reference. The most relevant videos, parts lists, etc. can be found from here.

MK7 Suspension Hardware Checklist - part numbers, torque specs, and notes on when they might need replaced. Use at your own risk - Double check all part numbers and specs for your specific vehicle. This started out as my own rough notes/spreadsheet and decided to share it. Send me a message through the www.facebook.com/datadrivenmqb Facebook page if you spot any blatant errors. Most of the “common” needed stuff is listed. If you check the boxes on the first page, it populates a summarized list of part numbers on the second page which can be printed out or brought up on your phone to inventory everything when you pick it up at the dealer/it shows up at your door.
